I am Carmen Bornstein, photographer and owner of The Name Framers. Traveling has always been

a passion of mine since my first trip abroad at the tender age of 16. Wanting to be able to share special

places and experiences with family and friends, my camera was a constant companion. Many years later,

an empty nest and retirement have provided opportunities to once again take flight. Now I love exploring

new places with my husband, Mel.

The digital world opened up a whole new and exciting adventure. Looking through the lens at nature and

architecture and seeing images of the letters of the English alphabet has become a new passion. I now see

letter photos turning into word art everywhere.

I have combined letter photos to create customized word art for friends and traveling companions around

the world. A "B" from a little church in Vienna where a daughter was married and an "A" from a hammock

on her porch in Croatia are now a part of a "thank you for your hospitality" gift which hangs in her home

in Vienna.

I didn't embark on this journey in an attempt to start a business. However, after creating a couple of name

frames, my hometown framer suggested a partnership. It was this positive response that encouraged me to

create a website with the help of my friend, Peter. I now have numerous framing partners across the

country who are all professionals that demand and love fine photography.

A friend once commented that a particular letter image itself is a thing of beauty, but combining several

images creates unique. customized letter art. Choosing from hundreds of images to make a name frame or

pictures from letters creates a wonderful, personalized wedding or housewarming gift. Whether color, black

& white or sepia is your favorite, using our interactive design tool provides a fun way to create a pleasing

combination of letter pictures to coordinate with any decor. Adding a mat and frame helps to visualize

what the letter artwork will look like when it has been completed by the framer.

Attending a granddaughter's third birthday party, wandering around an archeological dig at Ephesus,

Turkey, or hiking under the canopy of a rainforest in Queensland, Australia, are all fertile grounds for

capturing pictures of letters and turning them into photographic art. And, the adventure continues...
